Weekend

It's been a busy and fun weekend! We had a cookout with our age group from church on Saturday night. It was lots of fun! We grilled hot dogs and hamburgers on the campfire and had homemade ice cream. The kids all played in the sandbox and on the trampoline. They played cowboys and rolled in the dirt. They were all FILTHY needless to say! I think all the adults had as much fun just sitting on the porch under the fans taking it easy as anything! Our friends Tina & Travis got to come so that was a special treat! They moved to Columbus last year and we don't get to see them much any more!

Monday we took the boys over to the river so they could fish for a little while. They didn't catch anything but they sure had fun! Shannon's Granny was camping out down there and cooked some fresh fish for lunch. Yum! The boys ate fish faster than Nanny could get it pulled off for them!We got back home and Shannon, Josiah, Joe & Benjamin all went down to the creek. Elihu went to sleep on the way home from the river so I stayed in the house with him (don't tell anybody, but I took ME a nap, too). Anyway, Josiah & Benjamin ended up getting in the creek up to their chests! They were soaking wet and covered in sand! But they were happy as bugs in a rug! Shannon & Joe caught some crawdads...the boys thought that was great! I should've told Shannon to take the camera so he could get some pics of all their fun. Oh well...

Today was our first official day of summer vacation! We got all kinds of stuff done. The boys had a ball playing outside in the sandbox, riding their bicycles, playing with Rosco...you name it, they probably did it today...or at least this weekend!

I had my quiet time this morning and remembered to ask God to bless our day today. And you know what? He did!
