Open House!

We had a blast at Open House tonight! The boys got to meet their teachers and they are very excited about school starting back. Isaac actually stayed in the stroller for the most part so that made me very happy! It's the small things in life. :-)

Josiah will be in 4th Grade and Elihu will be in 1st Grade! They have had a great summer. Elihu worked on his words a little and Josiah has enjoyed reading! I will be glad to get back into a schedule of some sort. I'm sure Isaac will be a little lost without brothers at home to play with. Maybe we'll manage somehow...

Elihu finally lost his first two teeth a few weeks ago! He was very excited. I was expecting it to be the top teeth but it was 2 of his bottom teeth...and not even the front ones! Go figure! Josiah was very encouraging to him...telling him it doesn't hurt, etc. Isaac, on the other hand, was oblivious!

Daddy celebrated his 60th birthday in July! We had a surprise party for him with his Sunday School class. It went great! We were sure glad for all their help! He was surprised until he got to their house and saw all of our vehicles parked outside. Oh well...at least we made it without telling him. Or should I say at least MAMA made it without telling him!! :-)

I haven't updated in a couple of months! Sorry to all 2 of my blog readers. I don't even know if I have 2 that read this!?!? :-) We had a great vacation to Pigeon Forge. The boys got to go back to Pigeon Forge a few weeks ago with grandparents so that made them really happy!

We celebrated Josiah's 9th birthday and Isaac's 2nd birthday in June. I can't believe how fast time is flying by and how fast they're all growing up! I keep thinking about how quickly high school is approaching us! Yikes!!!

Shannon is still travelling some. It has slowed down a little of late...more just day trips than anything! It could pick up again at any time I guess. But I sure have liked him being home in the evenings! We miss him when he's not here.

My Testimony

I was 9 years old and terrified that I was going to Hell when I died. I kept asking my mama questions about it. She would always just reassure me that I'd know when it was my time to ask Jesus in my heart. I went to Bible Camp that summer for the first time. The Lord spoke to my heart that Monday night during the preaching service through a sermon by Butch Lee. I didn't go down. I was afraid what the other kids would say...especially being new at camp and not knowing everybody. On Tuesday, I worried ALL day long because I KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT that if I died, I'd open my eyes in Hell. So back in the service on Tuesday night, I could hardly wait for the preacher to give the invitation. Sure I was still nervous, but I knew I needed him more than I needed to be nervous! I went down and got my counselor by the hand. My friend Libby followed. We knelt outside on the sidewalk and I repeated a prayer after my counselor. I don't really know that it would've mattered the words I said because God knew what was in my heart. I got saved that night and haven't been the same since! He put a wonderful peace in my heart that nothing else in the world can ever replace. I thank Him for that sweet moment of salvation and pray that I can be an example along the way for those I meet. You know, you're never too old or too young really to be saved. If you feel God speaking to your heart right now, just bow your head, close your eyes, and ask Him to come inside your heart and make you clean and pure and holy and be your Savior. It's that simple. Then YOU can have that wonderful peace that passes ALL understanding!
