Christmas 08!

We had a great Christmas! Actually, we had one entire week of Christmas hoo-rahs and shin-digs. It started out with a Christmas supper at Red Lobster (YUM!!) on Thursday night. Then on Friday night Josiah had his cub scout Christmas party at Monkey Joe's. They had a BLAST! Then on Saturday we had Christmas with my grandparents (Mama's family). Then on Sunday we had Christmas with Shannon's Granny's family. Then on Monday we had Christmas with Shannon's Daddy & Libby, Hannah, and the Gaddys. Then on Tuesday we had Christmas with Ben & Lela. On Christmas Eve we had Christmas breakfast with Mama & Daddy and Amy & Josh and then we had supper that night with my Granny. We ended all the Christmas celebrating with Shannon's Maw Maw's family (his mama's family) and supper that night with the Whelchel family. It was definitely a good week. Hey, I was just thankful I didn't have to cook for one whole week!! Yay for me!

The Christmas play was great! Shannon and the others did an awesome job! He's so great at things like that because he really puts himself into it...you never know quite what to expect but that's what makes it great! He was hilarious! The message in the play was awesome, too! Hopefully it at least got everyone to thinking...even though nobody came down.

Shannon was off all last week and today. He goes back to work tomorrow. It's going to be hard adjusting to him not being here. He's been such a huge help around the house! I'm still not feeling so hot and he's been doing the bulk of things around here! My first trimester was over Christmas Day so I'm hoping this sick stuff will be passing very soon!

Both the boys have had ear infections. Shannon had to take Elihu to the Dr LAST Saturday and then he had to take Josiah this PAST Saturday. His tube had fell out of that one ear and it was severely infected. It had also ruptured so we're putting drops twice a day plus antibiotics for the infection. They're both feeling much better and we are definitely glad for that!

My Testimony

I was 9 years old and terrified that I was going to Hell when I died. I kept asking my mama questions about it. She would always just reassure me that I'd know when it was my time to ask Jesus in my heart. I went to Bible Camp that summer for the first time. The Lord spoke to my heart that Monday night during the preaching service through a sermon by Butch Lee. I didn't go down. I was afraid what the other kids would say...especially being new at camp and not knowing everybody. On Tuesday, I worried ALL day long because I KNEW WITHOUT A DOUBT that if I died, I'd open my eyes in Hell. So back in the service on Tuesday night, I could hardly wait for the preacher to give the invitation. Sure I was still nervous, but I knew I needed him more than I needed to be nervous! I went down and got my counselor by the hand. My friend Libby followed. We knelt outside on the sidewalk and I repeated a prayer after my counselor. I don't really know that it would've mattered the words I said because God knew what was in my heart. I got saved that night and haven't been the same since! He put a wonderful peace in my heart that nothing else in the world can ever replace. I thank Him for that sweet moment of salvation and pray that I can be an example along the way for those I meet. You know, you're never too old or too young really to be saved. If you feel God speaking to your heart right now, just bow your head, close your eyes, and ask Him to come inside your heart and make you clean and pure and holy and be your Savior. It's that simple. Then YOU can have that wonderful peace that passes ALL understanding!
