We were at Dairy Queen yesterday morning. A man came in wearing a George Strait-type cowboy hat...kind of "mountain man" looking. Elihu was so impressed...he said, "Look, Mema! There comes a REAL cowboy!"
The boys were playing in the basement this morning while Shannon was down there doing a couple of things. Shannon came back up, but the boys kept playing. In a little while they came up, too. Shannon asked them if they'd turned the lights out. You could tell by the looks on their faces that the answer was NO. He told them both to go back down and turn out the lights. I heard Josiah as they were going down the steps, "There's no such thing as monsters. There's no such thing as monsters. There's no such thing as monsters." He said it ALL the way down the steps and ALL the way back up the steps. It was so funny!
Why is it that we can spend hours in a basement but get creeped out when we have to turn the lights out and head back up? Like the darkness turns into some kind of monster that's gonna gobble us up!?!!

Too cute. Those boys are something else. I'm still a scaredy cat when it comes to the whole basement thing myself! :) I don't like the dark either. ;)
